DAYTON1 RECAP: RECAP IT YOURSELF
[So both the person who signed up to recap last night's show and also the backup recapper were unable to submit a recap in a timely manner today. So we respecfully request that you recap the show yourself in the Comments. My two cents:

First set contains a solid "Sigma Oasis" opener and a not-terrible type-1 "Bathtub Gin" (no clue if it'll make its jamchart or not, I wouldn't recommend it), but is a below-average-great first set in my exceedingly haughty and not even the slightest bit humble opinion [Editor's Note: I've relistened to the Gin jam and agree with user N00b100's Comment, it's not right to call this jam type-1. It's mostly type-1 but there's no question it "goes type-2" a few minutes into the jam segment.].
Second set contains a "Mike's Song" with a second jam, that I think is pretty good and obviously would've loved at the show because I love Phish, but I'm on the fence about recommending it be jamcharted (but I suspect the jamcharts team will chart it). HOWEVER THAT SAID, @Bizarchive highly recommends this Mike's Song, even calling it "beautiful and melodic" and "bliss" and "must hear" Mr. Bizarchive is no expert, however, unlike me, a Mike's Song Expert (my retainer fee is three lot-grilled cheeses, six sammies, and a bottle of Balvenie DoubleWood). .jpg)
And I do like "Pillow Jets," since "the conjurers of thunder" lyric amuses me (much like "Viking warriors with animal heads"), and I LOVE A DARK-evil-cacophonous-in-part jam segment (improv) like what's in this version. I will recommend that the jamcharts team begin a chart for this song with this version.
Also, THRILLED to see that "Slave" was performed, and performed well-enough, as one of our own, ZZYZX, had requested it!

Goes without saying that if you rated last night's show four or GASP HEAVEN FORFEND five stars, then of course You Suck At Phish but please, that said, All Ye Who Suck At The Phish, please, PLEASE recap the show yourself in the Comments. -two cents, charlie]

I thought the night was marked by a bunch of tight, dynamic jams. Trey seemed pretty ready to shred and they never went full bliss, which was refreshing to someone that comes out for evil phish. Every time they approached it, Trey came out with something darker and funkier to turn away. 9th Cube was unexpected and had very many people scratching their heads. This Theme was a bit weird, very traditional but with some oddly placed and very different licks from Trey. Great jam in Cool Amber, very shreddy. I enjoyed the Gin, they went to some uncommonly traveled spaces and returned to the theme very smoothly(another thing that stood out in this show, imo). Reba and It's Ice(I know I skipped ahead with this one, but I hold them both in the same "intricate composed piece" basket) seemed very well executed to me, which was nice as the last few of both I've seen were a bit flubby.
I very much enjoyed the second set. The jams felt like they were just the right length and each one had something a bit different. It was fun to catch a second jam in Mike's, and this one was very dynamic. I didn't know Pillow Jets, but the jam made me a believer... it was big and explosive and extremely high energy. Twist is a song I've seen a disproportionate number of times, but I really enjoyed this one. Trey brought everyone down to quiet to start it off and I thought the result was some really great teamwork by both the melodic and rhythmic sections. A very emotive Slave closer alerted us that there was going to be something worth waiting for, and was another of the connective fibers stretching back to 97.
Joy isn't a song I'd ever choose to hear at a show, but Red likes it and I knew there was more so I just let wash over me. The Buffalo Bill felt perfectly placed, really picking up the mood and reminding us how silly this band can be. The Silence of the Lambs quote was fun as well, I miss when Trey talked to us. Wilson > First Tube was just pure energy. The crowd was over the moon and it felt like every effect Trey has was on display at some point in that tiny little shredfest.

Hi, I'm Ohio and so thankful to be in the Wright State, all my friends are Nutted, whether they know or not. The arena BOUNCED from N1 DAYton, ohiO! Can we even start to recap when we have sOo much to talk about the Buckeeyes (and the Midwest in FUCKKING GENERAL) BRINGING SO MUCH FOR US LUCKY IN,----diviuals...resting and everyone should "Wright" n' express n1 and 2 Ohio!
