RIPvanWinkman Definitely the Inferno, in the 'Boat. Yamar was dedicated to my boss Malcolm. I worked with a primordial Phan named Tim who turned our whole kitchen on the the wild sounds of the Nor'East. He may have had some influence in bringing the boys up Yampa way during their (second?) swing through Colorado.

My first show, and the one that really makes me feel like an old timer.

thelot Pretty nice SBD source available for this show. There’s some tape hiss present, so if this is a Cass/1 it may have been dubbed with poor equipment or possibly to a low end cassette.

Things start out with Golgi. Page dedicates Ya Mar to Malcolm, owner of the Motherlode Restaurant in Steamboat. Possum has a Jäegermeister quote from Trey and a ‘Skip to My Lou’ tease. There’s some clicks and pops during the composed section and jam of YEM, possibly a loose cable. The vocal jam has more Jäegermeister quotes. Solid A-Train. A nice Jesus Left, Sky and GXBX combo rounded out set 1.

The beginning part of Set 2 is plagued with more loose cable issues. A fine Bowie starts things off. More Jäegermeister quotes during the Hi-hat Hijinx. Also, some Birdland teasing from Trey during the intro and jam. Page even throws in a brief Wizard of Oz, Miss Gulch/Witches theme before Trey counts off three to start Bowie. Tweezer is a Grooveasaurus! Fantastic version with lots of grunts and growls from Henrietta. Funny reaction from Fish over some feedback during Terrapin. This version features a fun bone solo from yours truly. Great Mike’s Groove to close out Set 2. Groove slays! The crowd is left begging for more. Trey reminds everyone to give all of their money to the waitresses and bartenders on the way out. Haven’t heard that in a while! Carolina wraps up the evening on a mellow note.
