So rolled out of Laramie after class Wed. And drove straight through across I-80 and down into K.C. early in the morning. I still remember being 2 hours out or so as the sun was coming up over the horizon and it was the most beautiful deep red.
Can't remember much until my crew is in the lot, drinking beers, puffin and priming for the show. I remember thinking it was sweet that the GD had played at all three venues I was about to rock over the next 3 days. Municipal Aud is in the heart of K.C. and I remember it not being a very good part of town. Also, lots of chicken joints in K.C. fyi.
This was my 7th show as I had jumped in head first after my first show 4 months prior. They opened with Punch and when it went into The Landlady section I remember punching the taper in the arm next to me and saying "Landlady, Landlady!!" And he was like "They always do this.". Oops. Oh well. Kung started and I was so high and confused that the whole "Stand up, Stand up..." part really threw me off. I stood up and was like, what do we do know? Ha, funny now that I think back about it.
Don't remember much else about the show really. This was my least favorite of the 3 that particular run although it was one of my best friends(@pmac024) first show. Oh, also i met a good taper buddy of mine there, John C., that always flew a rubber chicken between his mics. It was easy to tell if he was at a show, you just looked for the flying chicken. Seats in the upper deck were red, I believe.
Peace
