Notes: Fishman led the band in the debut of Setting Sail, which arose out of the vocal jam of YEM. Tweezer contained In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida teases from Page.
Some banter before the second set. Trey mentions that Fishs' parents are in the audience and the last gig they were at was the "Ithaca State Theater gig" where they gave away a car (2/14/91). Apparently the person who won it sold it and drama ensued, which was new news to Fishs' parents.
I actually would like to rate this 2.5 stars but I went with 3 stars just for the YEM-> Setting Sail.
Hey, it's a '90-'91 show, what do you think I'm gonna say? That's right! Tight, well played, not overly adventurous, but a solid show! Actually, I do think this is a little better than your average '90-'91 gig, and it does have one standout, I think -- the Reba is really quite excellent, especially for such an early version! Clean composition and Trey really does some majestic, gorgeous work! My initial grade for the Reba is B-/B, which *might* be a little high, but it's definitely a version worth checking out! Three stars overall for this show.
