The Philosophy School of Phish is in session at Oregon State University. We invite you to join a free, public dialogue that runs alongside the for-credit class at OSU. Fans with any level of philosophical experience (including none) may participate. This facilitated reading group will run for ten weeks from April 8 to June 10 and will cover topics such as community, the sublime, “IT,” aesthetics, and more.
You can participate in two ways:
1. Weekly Hybrid Meetings: Join us in person at OSU’s Portland campus or via Zoom, Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30pm PT, starting April 8.
2. Phish.net Discussion Thread: Every week, a dedicated thread will be posted here for discussion of the week’s readings.
The reading group is free. If you are able, please consider giving the recommended donation ($5/class or $50/10 weeks) to the Mockingbird Foundation.
To join, email Dr. Stephanie Jenkins at [email protected], who will send you the full schedule, readings, and Zoom link. If you have accessibility needs, please reach out as soon as possible.
If you liked this blog post, one way you could "like" it is to make a donation to The Mockingbird Foundation, the sponsor of Phish.net. Support music education for children, and you just might change the world.

The Mockingbird FoundationThe Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
