Review by Lemuria

Lemuria This was probably "only" a 3- or 4-star show for the era, but it's blistered to my brain. I'd heard *of* Phish previously, but only heard their music that afternoon - a cassette of Lawn Boy. At the show, I was feeling drained so took a chair in the middle of the (mostly empty) floor - and was slackjawed until at least the setbreak, after which I joined the (small but energized) "crowd" at the stage edge. ... It's two solid sets of classics (duh, it was 24 years ago), with some (at least now-) rarities, including the first of two Destiny's at Trax (the 2nd of which was the last for 12 years). YEM was silly, and the second set interaction had a great vibe, both good signs for the crowd and venue - which would host 6 Phish shows, help bring them to sister venue the Floodzone in Richmond and elsewhere, and connect them with Coran Capshaw and the Dave Matthews Band.
