DollarBill My friends, I believe the Roxy shows are officially overrated. Not by much, it's just that after listening to these last two shows, I feel they are at least as good, if not better in overall playing. Unless there is something I'm not hearing on the band's official recordings that doesnít measure up?

Anyway, this is their first show at the Ritz Theatre. Twentieth of the tour and it's also a good one! The recording, again, has noise reduction or someone has squished the life out of it somewhere along the line, but it's still a great show. Some feedback problems for Pete tonight, mostly monitors in the second set.

Jim fades in on the recording and itís a good high energy version. Right into a good Foam, this one is nice and dynamic. Trey says thank you and seems excited. Fee is well played. Melt had some tiny off spots, but otherwise a great jam. Fluff was also really well played, just a spot at the end, but 99% there. Llama was great! Horn mellows out nicely, maybe just a few off notes. Divided Sky had off parts from Trey, but a really good, high energy jam. Multiple nick names bring Fish out for washboard on IDK. Cavern was a little sloppy, but a nice closer for this excellent first set.

Almost sounds like Trey is teasing a Julius intro before a really rocking Loving Cup. Fish actually falls off a little in Paul and a little feedback in there too. The Ebenezer climax isn't all that in Tweezer, but they get in a really good one in the jam. Glide was ok, pretty standard. Chalk Dust totally rocks like it should. Mound had some more feedback and was really fast, but reasonably well played. Then the Balls come out, and this one has a proper ending. YEM is much better tonight and a nice jam for Pete's sake. Fish comes back out and gets the full band treatment on Lengthwise. Coil was pretty good, nice Page as usual. Tweeprise rocks out to close up shop for a really nice second set.

They keep on rocking with a solid Bold as Love for the first encore. And then people try in vain to shush the drunk chicks so we can hear Adeline. It was as good as it gets for an Adeline.

Folks, I'm telling you this one is really worth it. I'd love to hear a remaster of this one. Four stars!
