DollarBill Recording found! Nice soundboard from a Santana opener. Nice balance and you can hear the vocals clearly.

ATR starts things off as the boys come out of their shell even more, as far as set list choices go. Trey has some problems in the begining but they pull it off in the end. Sounds like a mic cord gets changed before Possum while the band talks about the sound to each other. Possum itself is really good and tight. A lot different with no teases and antics. Ice is really getting good as the no nonsense approach helps here. Just a few bum notes in there. I love that you can hear Trey talk between songs as he calls out for Sparkle first. Sparkle is nice and tight but there was a drop out in the recording very briefly. Stash is also really tight with a few bum notes from Trey but, the jam is excellent. You can hear another shout out onstage for Coil which is pretty good, although it sounds as though Trey has pulled himself out of tune again duing his Stash solo. Nice Page solo to lead us into a Jim closer. Great jam as they have been playing this well.

Good set overall. Nice song selection with only a few bum notes. Sounds like a "best behavior" set like in Europe. No teases or antics or vacuums! Ten days till my first glimpse!

4bobbyore I was hurrying to get in and my friends were wondering why......some of them wanted to hang out before Santana but I just took off. Lots of people getting their funky down in the lots with more people asking where I was going and why was I in a hurry to get in.... and was able to walk all the way to the front. Musically they were decent. Nothing bad, nothing mind-blowing. I remember that Coil being pretty good but it was odd to look around and see nothing but empty seats. In a year these guys would return and sell the place out and it felt like a privilege to witness a growth spurt and to see them evolve. Something I still feel privileged to witness 22 yrs later.
