theghost I'm nearly positive that the show on this date was at the Penny Post in Old Town Maine. The lists say that they played at the Penny Post on this date in 1989, but I'm quite sure that the date should be 1990. This was my brother's 20th birthday and I remember trying to talk him into going to the underage show at the Old Town coffee shop.

My 1st Phish show. It WAS at the Penny Post on 1/25/90. There were approximately 50 people there. It blew my mind. I just found the incomplete tape that I bought from the owner of the bar after the show. It's one of the worst recordings I've ever heard, just terrible sound quality. After he sold it to me I went back to my dorm room at UMaine, heard how bad it sounded, and called him to tell him I wanted my money back. He wouldn't refund me because he bought the tapes and took the time to make the tapes for me. 26 years later, I just moved to a new home and, BAM!, there they are in a box I haven't seen in years, with all my old Dead bootlegs. Sending to phish.net to fill that hole in the archives.
So many songs are cut off and start late, and it's missing a few songs that were recorded over with some Dead songs, but here's what I have of the show, unofficially, for now:
Set 1:
Mikes Song, Weekapaugh, Carolina in the Morning (Al Jolson) (a capella), Squirming Coil, Bouncing Around the Room, Split Open & Melt, Tela, Oh-Kee-Pah, AC/DC Bag, Fee, LaGrange (ZZ Top).
Set 2:
Slave to the Traffic Light, Squirming Coil (reprise?), Possum, Ballad of Curtis Lowe (Lynyrd Skynyrd), You Enjoy Myself, (Missing songs), Lawn Boy, Whipping Post (Allman Brothers), Suzie Greenberg, Communication Breakdown.
Score: 1
