Review by DemandOpener

DemandOpener Average-good Phish from 1991 on display here. Not a lot of slop, as the band was finally beginning to round into their obsessively accurate form. By this point, we were also starting to see a more creative use of secret language. The Popeye theme teases no longer sound out of place, DEG briefly pops up in a pretty solid Possum, and the Random Note signal in Bowie is just perfect. Still, without any truly standout moments, it makes it hard to recommend a show like this. I'm going with 3 stars here.

thelot Not the best audience recording. It’s hard to tell if it’s just poor recording equipment or bad acoustics. Lots of cuts and tape warble throughout the first set.

Things start off on a slow note with Carolina. Not sure if that was the best choice as it seems like most of the people in attendance were there to booze up and socialize. Pretty straightforward versions of Landlady>YEM follow. Nice Foam. Divided Sky cuts out during a good chunk of the jam. The beginning of Cavern is cropped. Reba cuts towards the end of the jam and comes back in during the final coda. Strong Possum to close set 1 with a DEG tease giving a nod to last nights amazing Tweezer.

The beginning of Oh Kee Pa is cut to start set 2. Solid Buried Alive. Enjoyable mid set Bowie. The beginning of Lizards is cut due to a tape flip. Rippin’ Fire to close out the second half. Double encore with a smokin’ GXBX to close the show.
