kenco My first (Phish) show. I was given tix to Santana by a friend who was ill (sorry but thanx!). A great venue, good use of a ski area in July! Having never seen (or known) the band at that time, I didn't know what to expect. WOW! The first thought that came to mind was Zappa. They blew me away. And then they came out and jammed with Carlos, what a treat!! I remember it was raining like crazy, but being under the canopy made it interesting & cool.

dogfacedboyman My first show ever, in my hometown, how cool. Its a ma and pa ski slope aka the big bump. I was a senior in high school and we lined up earlier at box office for Santana tix, I had never heard of Phish yet. Got third row centers. I was alittle ticked I missed the first couple of songs because the show started earlier than the ticket said, I guess the venue made them start early, the town residents of Patterson NY didnt really like that there were concerts at the ski slope in summer, they eventually shut it down. When I got third row center for my first show, I sat in mostly empty front seats wacthing phish, funny to think that now. I remember thinking the drummer looked weird and had a different looking type of drum set he had googles on. I was amazed how into it some of the other people in the front were, some real hairy hippies dancing agressivly, and looking at me like hey kid dont you know this if phish. Wish I knew the songs then; page missed a piano solo cue staring into crowd. They later jammed with Santana.

Qstick7 My first Phish show. My friend Pete said they were cool like the dead so figured I'd go. I was a junior in college and went to dead shows as much as possible. I had no clue this show would change my life! I remember it rained~ we danced and slid in the mud and totally melted my face that day. I loved phish much more than Santana and wanted more! That's when I jumped on the bus......

DollarBill Bummer no recording found. Looks like they are coming out of their shell even more with Divided Sky, a rare Weigh, a Melt and a Lizards.

Moving on...

Review by CloudStar845

CloudStar845 This was my First Show. I grew up skiing here since I was 5 or so. My parents took my brother and I to see Santana. I had not really heard of Phish yet. It was the summer after my freshman year in HS and I had just turned 15 a month earlier. I remember wandering around and watching the hippies dance. I also remember being impressed with the opening band and thought it was cool they sat in with Santana most of his show. I returned here a second time on 7/13/94 on purpose this time for my 3rd show and got super spun. Looking back I'm glad I got to see my favorite song, Split Open & Melt my first show. It's 30 years and 241 shows later and I couldn't think of a better first show. There was a super cool vibe and I knew I had experienced something special. I wish they could play here again!
