Review by GuyutesJig

GuyutesJig The first set starts off fun with a nice Wolfmans, Llama and Martian Monster. Axilla>Hey Stranger works well. The Steam>Taste stretch is fun and unique. Definitely expected a song after Taste. Overall it was a very average first set but with how they are playing in 2025 it's definitely enjoyable.

The second set is another story. Carini is a relentless exploration that lands in beautiful Trey melodies and Page synth on top of fantastic Mike and Fish rhythm. Light goes type 2 immediately and stays there for way longer than I thought it did as it touches on some really nice and somewhat intense musical ideas. Carini comes back in and we get some extra improv before going into a killer version of Sand. Melodic and hypnotic with great effects from Page and Mike. Perfect landing spot in Piper which churns out a micro-jam before landing in the Lizards. Shout out to LizardswithaZ. Trey must have read your show recap. Then we get a big YEM to close just an insane hour and forty-five minute long set. The cherry on top was a jammed out Meatstick that gets nice and funky before exploding in euphoric synths with Trey using the Meatstick riff to build a wonderful peak. All-star stuff from the second set and encore that stacks up easily with the best of 2025. It's going to be a hell of a Hampton run to close out the year before the New Years Shows. Get ready to step into the freezer.

Review by DownWithSteam

DownWithSteam To me, this show was a classic tale of 2 sets. The 1st set was solid but forgettable in ways - and was probably teeing up this show to have an "average" rating (3.8-3.9) - but in came this 2nd set to absolutlely flip the script. From Carini onward in this show you are getting the bliss, the goods we all come to see. Fantastic. Even that meatstick was dreamy stuff.

Set One: B-
Set Two A+

Score: 4.45

Review by Damn_that_kinda_sucks

Damn_that_kinda_sucks My third show and a fantastic one to boot. Decided to bring my Mom along for this one as I was visiting my home state of GA. We were nestled in the front most portion of the lawn, known to some as the “moat”. “Why are these guys wearing dresses?” my mother inquired about some folks in the audience before the show began. Queue the band walkout around 7:45 where I pointed out Fishman’s mumu. The boys take stage and bust out a Wolfman’s, an appropriate choice in light of my mom’s confusion regarding Fish and his dress attire. Set 1 was fantastic- Divided Sky coaxed a quite a few tears from myself, Llama and Martian Monster got the whole fam out their seats, and I always love Page’s bouncy riffs on Taste.

Set two ripped me a new asshole. The boys took Carini for a long walk and took everyone along for a transcendental experience as we transitioned into light and back into a “Carini Prise”. The Sand that ensued tore the fucking building down, Mike’s bass groove drove an extended jam that concluded aggressive staccato notes synchronized with flashes of white light from CK5s rig. I really enjoyed the slew of Gamehenge lore I got for the first time at a show- loved the Wilson in Set 1 but Piper and Lizards got the entire Stadium off their feet dancing their butts off and singing those fun storybook lyrics we all love!

For my favorite part of this set i just want to mention that I had been going through a “Meatstick” phase prior to flying out from Colorado and was really anticipating having to chase it for a couple of shows. The band ended up concluding with an ultra funky YEM, jamming out of the vocal section. After a few minutes backstage, they came back out and busted out the Meatstick! I just love that Japanese chorus and the dance is just too much fun!
Boy man, shocks my brain! What a fantastic evening. Thank you so much for putting on such a special and memorable performance for me and my fam!

ryeryebucko 3:21:41,

If that’s all I could review then I would. Everyone knows what happens when Phish comes to Alpharetta. The problem with high performance is the expectations that follow and Phish always brings the heat to our friendly little amphitheater in the land of cotton. Look at the set list, listen to the music, never take more than you gave. I think that I met the word count required for this review.

andrewrose If you're wondering if the band had anything left in the tank after the fiery finale and era-defining highlight they pulled off at SPAC in August, look no further than this second set (and encore!).

Carini is a blazing, ballsy affair, a very strong entry in terms of the 25min+ jams we've been treated to regularly these last couple years (a formula which doesn't always deliver this strongly). I might quibble with the > vs the -> currently listed in the setlists. The flow into Light and back into Carini are smooth and satisfying, and on the strength of this sequence alone the set would be worth exploring. But there's a perfect drop into Sand and a jam thats sees Trey sit back, jazzy, giving Page lots of room to take the lead. I think Page is probably the Sept tour MVP here. The jam is groovy and then part way in shifts into some absolutely glorious, patient, perfect Phish—maybe the strongest jam of the year, at least to my tastes. Fish approves with some Austin Power 'yeah baby's as the jam swells to a close and again here I'd argue -> into Piper. The Piper is shorter and sweet, swirling a bit. Lizards, YEM to close? Keeper.

Oh! And I've been waiting since 7/15/99 for Meatstick to really get taken for a proper, erm, ride. Besides the anomalous classic RocknRoll>Stick pairing from 2011, we haven't really seen that growth materialize. This encore offering isn't quite as girthy as 99's, but damn if it isn't satisfying. More big Meatsick please!
