This headlining performance was part of the Bear Creek Music Festival that also featured The Funky Meters, MSM&W, The New Mastersounds, Marco Benevento and Dumpstaphunk among many others. Before Sand, Trey introduced Tony Markellis and told the story of how they met, and of how Trey, Tony, and Russ Lawton wrote First Tube, Last Tube, and Sand on the first day they ever practiced together.

Review by Roofless_Sheds

Roofless_Sheds This is THE show for full band TAB, post-Phish reunion, pre-Traveler era.

They played EVERYTHING, with a fire and ferocity that fit the vibe of the cypress grove surrounding the stage. My favorite TAB versions of Sand, Jibboo, Cayman, Money Love, Mr. Completely, First Tube, Shine... Just one after another flooded outward in a relentless assault. The band was impeccably tight and responsive, and clearly managed to impress a lot of people.

Those of us who were familiar kept praying for a Medeski sit-in, as the TAB alum was on site and played a full set with Scofield, Martin, and Wood earlier in the evening, but alas. After the final notes of Black Dog resounded through the swamp, I doubt anybody remained unsatisfied.

If you're gonna pay good cash money to download the SBD of a single TAB show since 2008, this is the one to grab.
