This setlist is incomplete and is out of order. The only recording in circulation is a mix of songs from the show, which features Hydrogen brutally cut out of the Mike’s Groove. This setlist is in the order in which those songs appear on the mix. (The mix also includes several songs from the Paradise show on January 26, 1989.) Possum contained a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer tease, which raises the question – were these songs really performed in March 1989? David Bowie closed the first set. Before Brain, someone introduced Fish – or is it Phish – as being “from Bogota, Columbia.”  It is therefore possible that Brain opened this show, which would be the only (known) time that Brain opened a show.

I'd say this is definitely out of order. Nothing really worth going out of your way to listen to, unless maybe you're trying to hear every time Fish did If I Only Had a Brain. Here's a quick rundown:
Decent/Okay: Possum, 'Paug (once it gets going), Golgi, Sky, Brain, A Train
Trey absolutely butchers the Bowie lyrics (sounds nit picky, but it really was bad) and beyond that it's not very tight on the whole. It's the same story with Mike's and the jam seems to kind of stall out in the beginning. Even once it gets going it's not anything great - just okay. I'm gonna go with 1 star. Not really worth your time, IMHO.

Review by TheEmu

TheEmu Not much in the way of highlights to speak of here. It certainly sounds like a mix tape, as the energy level from the band in Mike's and Weekapaug is 180 degrees from the energy in A Train. Mike's borders on brutal, and Bowie is pretty sloppy. Divided Sky is so-so. I guess the Weekapaug has it's moments, but that's about it. I'm just going to go one star.
