MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 310

Welcome to the 310th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the most difficult and final MJM of January. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of the four mystery clips – these clips are connected by a theme that needn't be part of the correct answer. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one guesses correctly, I will post a hint on Tuesday around 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, after which each person gets one more guess before I reveal the correct answer on Wednesday, or as soon as necessary. Special thanks to the newest member of the MJM Emeritus Crew, @wforwumbo, for constructing this week's contest. Good luck!

Answer: Congrats to @12_29_97_4eva, who was stuck on five wins for an entire year, but now only needs one more MJM victory to reach the promised land! After falling briefly into the "Ghost" trap, he picked apart @wforwumbo's 1999 theme and quickly identified the 7/23/99 "Ghost," the 12/11/99 "Ghost," the 7/21/99 "My Left Toe," and the massive 9/18/99 "Boogie on Reggae Woman." MJM311 and the difficulty will drop shortly: it's n00b week, let's see some new faces!

MiguelSanchez God damn i hate these multiple ones. I feel good about 2 of the 4. Now, i'm going to spend time on the other 2, never find them, and then be pissed when i see what they are because i should know them. THANKS PETE!!

Actually you have me to despise for this one, @uctweezer is mostly innocent this week. But regardless, you are quite welcome!

Ah...I didn't read the intro very closely at all. I'm just used to cursing Pete for starting every week with me feeling like a failure!!

Just when I thought the trap of “first two are Ghosts, they must all be!” was working... nicely done!

For everyone else out there I highly recommend you check out all four of these jams in their entirety, then listen to all of ‘99 from the top. Money jams can be found in EVERY show. Of distinction is this 7/23/99 Ghost, which is my favorite Phish jam.

JMart Shout out for 12/11/99, which is one of my favorite second sets ever.

Choda I knew they were all from ‘99

Treys sound is so distinct during this era

Yep, '99 is just a killer year. Too bad I couldn't recognize two of these, though. I'll have to brush up on some of those shows.

lostboy01 7.23.99 was my first show. that ghost sealed it. (still my top 5 all-time favorite ghosts.....7.2.98, 7.6.98, 5.22.00, 12.31.09)

also, does anyone wish the band revealed their upcoming tours/nye runs during their concerts!? the place went nuts when trey announced big cypress!

MiguelSanchez It took me about 2 seconds to spot 7/23/99. That ghost is in my blood. I was 99% sure on the boogie on. I was stone cold stumped on the Spectrum Ghost and MLT. I'm not as jazzed on that spectrum show as many are, so it's been a while since i spun that one. I could've spent my whole week hunting, and I probably wouldn't have hit on that MLT. Nice work on the win!!

The place was already bat shit crazy after ghost>free>boaf. The NYE announcement was the icing on the cake. To my knowledge, that's the only time they've done that. You may be able to hop into the way back machine and fine another example, but I can't think of one since I've been active and following what they are doing.

You’re the same one that shit all over Pete’s thread where he was linking up great matrix recordings. What the fuck is your deal? Don’t like good people? Nothing better to do? Just an ass hole? A combination of all 3? Definitely an ass hole.
