Review by C_List_Mockingbird

C_List_Mockingbird Felt the need to review this show because this is the kind of TAB show I love. Out of the two nights in Denver, this was by far the stand out show. The energy was high that night, as were most in attendance.
Drifting let everyone settle in, but not too far as First Tube followed up with incredible heat. While I've heard Phish play it more, I always prefer the extra levels TAB brings with a horn section. Cayman Review was a great lead in to the Bob Marley cover Soul Rebel. The rest of the first set contained excellent performances of TAB classics, however it was the 2nd set that really stood out to me.
Paper Wheels through Plasma was a dancing blur of excellence. Frost came at an interesting time, slowing down the vibe a bit, but the seque into Gotta Jibbo brought the energy right back up. After Goodbye Head it was time for Jennifer to show her vocal chops with a powerful rendition of the classic MacArthur Park. Finally the set closed with Sand, and what a Sand it was! Honestly this version is one of my top favorites from TAB and holds its own against some version performed by Phish. The horns were really let off the leash on this one and trey was masterful as always.
Ocelot start the encore off, and while a lot of people will hate on this song, I love it, especially with horns. However it was Dazed and Confused that the crowd seemed to appreciate more. Jen yet again showed her vocal talents (and her ability to cover Zepplin perfectly. There would be another Zep cover the next night). Everyone walked out happy after that.
Final thoughts, a very impressive TAB show and the stronger of the two that weekend. If you are a TAB fan this show is a must listen, and if you are just starting to get into TAB this show is a good place to start.

Review by Roofless_Sheds

Roofless_Sheds Spectacular show. At the two-night tour-closing Denver run, they decided to save much of the lighter, sunnier material for Saturday and explore the darkest depths of the immaculate TAB rhythm section funk pocket on Friday.

First Tube (2nd song!), Last Tube, Plasma, Jibboo, Sand, the first time James Casey ever played Ocelot with a Trey/sax duel, CRAZY cover selection, extended jams in Money, Love and Change and Alive Again...

I've seen my share of TAB, and this was pretty close to the platonic form of a Phish lifer's ideal TAB concert. Highly recommended.
