soundboy1 This show was the reason I went to Florida to see the band. The Edge was a night club in Orlando that I had heard about. I was on a mission to see the band in the smallest venues possible and this was the epitome of that. The lot was very dusty and hot as can be. I had too much substance and I was pretty spun for the show. So I don't remember much of the night which is a bummer. I'm sure I had fun though!

When I listen to this show it has a very club vibe. Lots of high energy rockers right from the start. VERY danceable show. After the show I met Fishman for the first time. He was with the twins and was headed off to Tampa. He was really nice and seemed surprised to be recognized. Which is really weird.

I was supposed to end tour this night and take the bus to Nashville to meet my father. I had the ticket and everything. However that night we found out that Phish was playing for free the next night in Gainesville. It was a tough decision but I decided to stay on tour. Jeff the guy whose car I was in said I could ride all the way up the east coast with him. This was an offer too good to be true and since I didn't have a job or anything going on it was on...

Review by Nigelphish

Nigelphish Great show, downtown Orlando. First show, drove over with a bunch of friends from Dade City, Fl where we were in college. Just all around fun.We had to walk a pretty good distance to get to the venue, talk about a tense walk, nobody knew what to expect. Being our first shows, we were scares but stoked.
Field in the back of this place, the Edge. The stage backdrop were minikin clothes/sheets? (3 of them). Cops standing on the sides of the field watching everybody, but luckily no problems. Played everything tight, just like on the albums back then.
Suzy was tight, divided sounded great, pretty windy that day for some reason, sun was out and blaring though. The split was totally jammed, fluff was great and technical. Then came the new song Julius , had read a few phans rants about how hoist was "so different than their older albums" and "how they were becoming poppy". This show for me turned those perceptions on their heads. Peaches, I can barely, just for my second peaches in 2011 in Charlotte and my third in St. Louis this year, only 17, 18 yrs later, love this band.
Horse>silent was beautiful with the wind blowing and the previously mentioned backdrop. When they busted into AC/DC > highway, people went crazy, had never heard either as they weren't on any of their albums and we didn't have any live shows yet.

Just great, that's why I still go to see them today almost twenty yrs later, "I'm still upside down, it's a small world"

Review by Miguelito

Miguelito This is a fun show, with a bunch of highlights. The first set is pretty packed but it’s during the Melt where things get taken to the next level. This version is fantastic, building and building to that frenzied, chaotic place that the best versions of this tune take us. I’ll take Fluffhead to follow something like that anytime and this one doesn’t disappoint.

I’ll take Peaches any time, in any spot. But opening Set II is a wise choice as it sets a fantastic tone for the rest of the set. This is clear in the Bowie, which is excellent. While not all the exploratory, it covers some nice ground and it’s a good demonstration of how the band is firing on all cylinders. This was such a great era for this tune and it’s nice to see it in the 2 spot in the second set. Horse > Silent follow as a nice breather. And then? My old friend, Dinner and a Movie! So great to see you. I miss you! Making its first appearance this tour, and not appearing again until the ‘95 fall tour, it’s already becoming a rarity.

The Tweezer is interesting, and chaotic while it lasts, and transitions very smoothly into Wilson. The Reba is pretty great and this was a good year for the song. However, it’s hard to compete with the prior, phenomenal version on 10.18.94. I like the setlist sequence of AC/DC Bag, followed by the set closing Highway to Hell. A nice Uncle Pen Tweezeprise encore and this solid show is done. Overall, I really liked this show as there is much that is worth checking out. While there are several shows surrounding this one that may be stronger, this is a good one and may even be somewhat underrated given the highlights and energy the band exudes.
