Brother was dedicated to Trey’s sister, Kristy. Dinner and a Movie, Cantaloupe, and Tweezer contained Smells Like Teen Spirit quotes. Cantaloupe was played for the first time since March 11, 1990 (225 shows). ‘A’ Train included Frosty the Snowman and We Wish You a Merry Christmas teases and a Charlie Chan signal at the end. The YEM vocal jam was based on "chicken sandwich" and burgers.

Review by Xpanding_Man

Xpanding_Man This is a (typically) solid show from 1991, when the band was really starting to outgrow venues like this, even in remote areas like Chapel Hill. I was a freshman at Duke (don't hate me, I didn't like it either) at the time, and have often wondered, "what if"? What if I had somehow made it to this show, as we used to go to Franklin street to meet NC girls and try to get served. What if I had discovered this band the way they were intended to be discovered, in person, listening to the best musicians in the country tear it up in a small club? Oh well...my first show would have to wait a couple years for the Cameo in miami beach. I would like to think I would have been smitten and immediately started collecting tapes etc., but I probably wasn't ready. Listening back to this show now, it's hard to believe that they brought this level of quality to the state nearly every night.

I'm sure there were a lot of people there just to do something on a Thursday, and I bet most had no idea the band would eventually sell out places like MSG. Oh well...

Blackeydsloth Well played show. Didn't find much to really rage over. Just great playing.

Review by TheEmu

TheEmu A good solid show, although not quite up to 4 star level, IMHO. In addition to being humorous, Roll Like a Cantaloupe is pretty well played, as is It's Ice. The Smells Like Teen Spirit teases/quotes in Dinner & A Movie, Cantaloupe and Tweezer are kind of funny, but get a little repetitive after a while. Good show, though.

Review by theghost

theghost I'd say this ANTELOPE is being underestimated as a novelty. It really smokes.... Trey shreds it HARD in a 91 style that makes it a little unique from the later ragers.

As a small historical note, Smells like Teen Spirit was just starting to explode on this particularly date. Checking back, it was #3 this week on the Billboard Alternative charts and would hit #1 on Nov. 23. It didn't peak on the mainstream charts until mid January. So anyway...the little teen spirit tease was very topical... not just a throw off of an ubiquitous vocal riff.
