The SBD source has pretty good sound quality, but there are cuts in Ya Mar, Fee, and GTBT. This show contains some humorous banter. Golgi Apparatus is delayed because Fish has to hit a spliff before they can start, as noted by Trey. Before Ya Mar, Trey talks about transporting the audience to the Bahamas and tells the crowd to imagine that they are in a pool drinking rum. On to the music. Golgi is good. The composed part of YEM has a few problems, but I thought the jam was pretty good. Trey really rips in this one. The portion of Ya Mar that is on the recording is fine. Fluffhead and Almuni> LTJP> Alumni sounded good. It sounds to me like Page may be playing the random note signal/Entrance of the Gladiators lick around at about 2:35 in Donna Lee, but I may be hearing things. Fee is Fee and Antelope is pretty damn good. Fishman has some trouble at first on his vacuum solo in I Didn't Know, but he eventually gets it going. He also describes the vacuum, noting that it's an old Electrolux 1956 model, is missing a wheel, and is light blue in color. Take the A Train features a rare Fishman drum solo. GTBT is decent, however part of it is missing. And once again, we have McGrupp with another lovely trombone solo from Fishman .

As a point of correction, this show was actually held at the McEwan Coffee House at Hamilton College, not Sig. The event was the (Keehn) Co-op Party, which was held on the last day of classes every year. it was to be held on the lawn outside of the Co-op but was moved because of rain. Esther and Foam were also played at this show. It was an afternoon show and was shut down by campus security as another campus event was beginning, the Hamilton Springfest. Trey erroneously refers to this show as the Hamilton Springfest twice. Between Esther and Foam, you can hear members of the crowd correcting him. The show was excellent, a very small crowd of friends.

Yet more proof that '87-89 > '90-'91. This show is tight as all hell, and raging from the start! Blazing versions of YEM and Antelope, along with a very nice Fluff > Alumni combo. You've also got a very nice A Train, with a very enjoyable drum solo. And, even though the McGrupp has that trombone solo I hate, there's several excellent selections from this show to get your rocks off.

The source info has this listed as a Cass/2 SBD , but I’d venture to guess this is an “On Stage” microphone recording with the mics being closer to Trey and Page on the stage. Noticeable splice in YaMar. Unfortunately the majority of the song is cut. Beautiful recording overall though! It’s unclear if there was any other songs played after McGrupp? I would imagine theres more to Set 2.

Another well played show for the western Mass fans. Donna Lee made an appearance for the first time since it’s debut at Goddard on 10/29/88. Highlights: YEM, Alumni, A-Train, McGrupp
