Review by thegman335

thegman335 People weren't kidding about the parking disaster. I left right at the end of the second set and it still took me an hour to get back.

Nice first set with some tasty jams in SYSF and Ruby Waves. Page was taking me to church with some majestic Hammond during SYSF. Segues from and into Ghost were smooth as butter and a hell of a way to start a show. Not to mention Mound, and I Been Around is a fun tune.

Second set started out promising and then got destroyed by awful setlist calls by Trey. Chalkdust was long but uneventful, Plasma was great, and the standalone Weekapaug was a good effort at taking it deep even though it was a bit wonky.

Page leads them into a cool dark groove post-Saw It Again and I thought we were in for a ride, and then Trey fires up Caspian. Damn. Caspian > Number Line > Bug mid second set is awful.

Still a pretty good tour opener. Even if some of the jams didn't get there for me, it was better than those early 3.0 jamless shows where they didn't even try.

7.5/10

Review by LightsWentOut

LightsWentOut I love a show that opens with a Ghost. Highlights for me was the BOTT > Ruby Waves, Been Around, Tube > About to Run frame that closed the first set. About to Run is an emotional song for me and it's always such a scorcher. It just gets more and more powerful each time I see it/hear it. Second set was high energy and a ton of fun all the way through. Some folks in the crew I was in had seen the Plasma show in Providence earlier and were psyched to get a Plasma. The BDTNL had some pepper on it and had my whole section bopping pretty hard. The Bug > Sand that followed was amazing. Bug, through the magic of that little girl singing it with Trey right before the summer Phish tour reframed that song for a lot of folks and this version was tight and powerful and a joy to witness. I have always loved Bug. I just it even more now. They could play Sand pretty much anytime, anywhere and I would be happy. This show was no exception. A Punch encore is a treat for me. I have seen it before in this slot and it just works, especially when its followed by a nice SANTOS. I was so psyched to be at Great Woods once again (last time was in 2010 at the Dr. Gabel show). After years of mainly West Coast/Colorado Phish crowds, being back in New England with a crowd of folks who have Phish in their DNA was a fun experience. I love the West Coast crowds, too, but I have to admit that the NE phans have it going on.

Review by Tahoe

Tahoe Incredible show. Gold start to finish. If you get about to run and saw it again in the same show, I hope you brought backup trousers.

Mountains in the mist is chill, but a welcomed feature in the first set.

Everything felt super clean and tight. To me it felt they are rehearsing, which was definitely lacking in summer 2021. Those shows were rather sloppy and boring, compared to fall 21 and spring 22. Feels like this summer we are in for a serious treat.

Plasma was jam of the night. Completely off the rails. Bug had us jumping for joy, completely sober nonetheless. Second set transitions were butter. Bark for Trey!

Review by PlaYEM

PlaYEM Loved the first set
Loved the stand alone Weekapaug. Really a treat along with plasma and saw it again
The lost me towards the end
Best traffic I’ve ever experienced at GW. So I am not complaining about that.

The dude smoking a blunt dipped on sex panther in section 8 the whole first set can take walk. Otherwise a swell Thursday night

Review by malachai

malachai This night was extra cool because I reunited with friends that I saw a bunch of shows with in 97-98. Everyone was buzzing about the Plasma sound check. Ghost starts things off. Was like really? Ghost again at Mansfield? Three times in a row? 2014: Ghost into stand-alone Weekapaug, which was so good. 2016: Ghost>Light was okay then the sound went out - awful. 2022: Ghost again, and stand-alone Weekapaug in set two… A little disappointed, like yeah ‘I saw it again’ and again and again... Set two comes along with a pretty standard Chalkdust>Plasma>Weekapaug, then got lost. This was followed with a forced marketing moment, the tour merch slogan I Saw it Again, with an off key, annoying section before it stops - for three party ending songs. Caspian, BDTNL, Bug… Together these songs slowed the vibe to a stop for me. Sand, PYITE, and SANTOS tried to save the evening but I was already gone. Still had fun, just honest feedback from a devout listener. All in all a great night spent with friends. 2.5/5
