The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

Everyone was on them. Trey acknowledged that this time period was hard for the band because of all the crap people, including himself, were ingesting at the time.
I'm no prude but the amount of people going to the show just to get wasted was exponentially out of proportion with the people going there to see a great band play great music.
Except, this was not a great musical show. The band was incoherent at best. Trey was all over the place and the rest of them were just there.
The other fans ruined it for me as the people all around us were simply drugged out on pills or whatever, spilling drinks all over the place, including my jacket. Then at the end of the show, this kid right in front of us tanked out and his friends didn't know what to do.
It was a miserable experience that put me off from seeing the band for a very long time. I thought there was no way they could redeem themselves after this.
