Review by waxbanks

waxbanks 45 minutes of pure joy and zero stakes. I think of Phish as an unusually goofy band, 'young at heart' and normally in high spirits on stage, so it's a little jarring to hear this or (say) the 'funky-bluesy' Lemonwheel soundcheck and realize that a normal Phish show is the very picture of focused professionalism in comparison. Their intent is all for our delight, I guess -- but here it's just four friends hanging out, playing old songs for one another, for the hell of it.

I'd pay real money to hear this kind of thing every week.
