Review by thelot

thelot These Colorado Multi-Track Recordings are just superb! It’s amazing that so many great recordings came out of Colorado early on. Big thanks to Mike Grace for getting it done and sharing these dank seeds with community! I wish every Phish show sounded this good! :)

A nice Landlady with some Buried Alive teasing opens things up. You can hear music in the background as Bouncin’ is finishing up. You hear the music more clearly as they fix some sound issues with their speakers. Apparently there was a stereo playing in the background. Trey has to request that it be turned off. They tune Donna Lee before launching into it. The segue into Suzy out of The Asse Festival is interesting. Decent Possum to close out set 1.

Pretty straightforward Mike’s Groove to kick off the second half. Groove is the highlight per usual. Solid version of Foam. Llama hit the ground running. Love these OG versions! This pairs nicely with Curtis Lowe. A few minor rough spots in Fluffhead but overall a beautiful version. Trey introduces Henrietta during HYHU, Fish failed to wear his Zero Man costume this evening because he “wasn’t paying attention.” Someone calls for a Halloween song after Terrapin. Trey offers up Buried Alive saying “it’s the ophishial Halloween tune”. This leads into a good but fairly average Bowie for this time period. The band comes back out for an extra long encore. The girl calling out for Contact all night finally gets her treat on Halloween. ;) The band leaves the stage and returns for a second encore, Bag and Carolina. The latter of which is cut from the recording. Unfortunately, the Bag is plagued with drop-outs throughout.
