spreaditround Attended! Had great seats about 25 rows back DFC.

SET 1: AC/DC Bag > Mound, Timber (Jerry the Mule), Uncle Pen, Sample in a Jar: Standard.

The Lizards: Page really shines.

Billy Breathes, Acoustic Army, Prince Caspian, Run Like an Antelope: Standard.

First set summary: The set is solid and well played but from someone that attended – I will say that based on being there and re-listening – this is just a run of the mill first set. Nothing stands out really. There is nothing that I would seek out and relisten to and I have attendance bias...

SET 2: Maze: Total face melter, on fire.

Theme From the Bottom: Standard yet awesome if that makes any sense, the band sounded awesome during this. >

Scent of a Mule: Mike’s vocals at the end are pretty cool. Definitely a way out there version.

You Enjoy Myself: During the YEM Pre-Nirvana segment, Trey multiple times vocalizes “XXXXXX My mother’s waiting for me” – Never been able to make out what the first part is and never heard what all this meant but I have always wanted to hear some vocals in the Pre-Nirvana segment ever since attending this show. This jam rips hard! True to the era, shredtastic. Bass and Drums is solid with Trey throwing in some evil effects. The vocal jam is exceptionally evil and surely rattled some folks that evening.

Strange Design: After the darkness that came before, this was a welcome respite. >

Frankenstein: Cool space jam and intense build up into the intro >

Chalk Dust Torture. ENCORE: While My Guitar Gently Weeps: Standard.

Second set summary: The set started out very strong with Maze and Theme. But I am just not a SOAMule guy – at ALL – and holding such a prominent position in the set derailed momentum. YEM was awesome but outside of that – there is nothing here for me to revisit, even with my attendance bias. This is a slightly above average show for Fall 95 and I would rate it a 3.75 out of 5, much lower than the 4.27 current rating here on .net.
