Soundcheck: Dog Log – Super funked up. Hilarious banter about guy that was hammering something inside the venue as they were playing and he was wearing an apron. The band referred to him lovingly as apron man and during the jam thought this noise was coming from Fish. Very funny stuff!

SET 1: Tweezer Reprise: First time opening a set, looks like the Huskers winning their homecoming game pushed energy over to this Saturday night Phish show! Last time this tune was played in the first set and not as a closer only happened one other time, on the night it debuted at 2.1.91!!!

Chalk Dust Torture: Has some extra juice, check it out!

Guelah Papyrus: Standard.

Reba: Had to listen to this one a few times tonight. Check out the 6:07 through 6:27 – it has distinct similarities to the 4.2.98 Twist. This is a rock solid Reba with Trey picking and grinning via staccato playing and super synced up with Page throughout.

Wilson > Cars Trucks Buses, Kung > The Lizards: Energy of a freight train!

Strange Design: Sounds like the rowdiest crowd thus far this tour – during the quiet parts they are whooping it up:

Acoustic Army: Shushers are trying to do their thing but it’s Saturday night In Lincoln / Homecoming / Big win – good luck with that:

Good Times Bad Times: the band teased Black or White. Page’s vocals go into the jam are sublime, seriously sounds like an airplane taking off. ->

Tweezer Reprise: Odd how this one starts, kind of at it’s highest possible peak? Not sure how to explain it.

First set summary: What a set, pretty much perfect as the pedal is to the medal almost throughout and has a jam to anchor the set in Reba which certainly has replay value.

SET 2: Also Sprach Zarathustra > David Bowie: This segment is Phish at their literal best. 2001 to open gets the place grooving as one and the Bowie jam is 11 minutes of Fall 95 FIRE. Probably not an all time Bowie but one that I will reach for from time to time as it is basically perfection as a Type I.

Lifeboy: Perfect placement, brilliant.

Sparkle: Gets everyone back on their feet and ready for the homestretch >

You Enjoy Myself: Early on in this jam it has that Dance Party USA feel to it, lots of cool effects and jamming. The jam has less of the typical Trey shredding and more of a funk feel to it >

Purple Rain > Hold Your Head Up: It’s a shame this is not on the LP video. Apparently Fish’s antics during this were legendary.

Harry Hood: Starts off with Beat It teases. Beautiful Harry Hood and placed perfectly.

Suzy Greenberg: Can you tell the band is having fun on this night? Yes! Tons of teases: Beat It, Stairway to Heaven, and Tweezer Reprise and Black or White.

ENCORE: Highway to Hell – Face melter, the perfect cap to a an amazing Phish show. Those of you that attended, consider yourselves lucky!

Second set summary: Just an awesome show and memorialized on LivePhish for good reason. Bowie and YEM are both great and Hood is not too shabby. The set has perfect flow and cohesion. For me this is the best show of the tour so far as it has the edge on 10.11 in terms of energy and setlist – but not by much! I would rate this as a 4.6 out of 5.
