Review by MrPalmers1000DollarQ

MrPalmers1000DollarQ Man, I'd really love some more SBD releases from this show. We got the incredibly exploratory SOAM from Live Bait 4, but both the MFMF and Hood are also major standout versions. MFMF is obviously notable for its Hoochie Koo jam into the myfe ending, a theme which continues here and there in the subsequent Melt. Melt jam really takes off with the help of Gordo, who does what he does best and introduces a new harmonic movement. From here, the whole band takes things into space with unreal dissonance, crash landing in a subdued segment that crescendos and peaks all over again, evolving nonstop along the way. As the jam charts point out, Hood stands out with an unusually dark segment early on. This gives way to more traditional Hood jamming that involves full band give and take that parallels the band's best moments. The approach to the peak here is breathtaking, as Trey is truly on a mission to shred the fuck out of his guitar. Trey is honestly on another plane throughout the whole show, dialed in to fully automatic Machine Gun mode and playing with undying conviction (check out Sample and DwD for some more examples).
