Review by dr32timmymeat

dr32timmymeat A fun nugget about this show is that earlier that day, the hometown Nebraska Cornhuskers football team beat the visiting Kansas State Wildcats in a heavyweight tilt. Lincoln (and Nebraska in general) is obsessed with football. The city must have been lit. Trey donning a bright red shirt for a Saturday night show in Big Red country is presumably no coincidence. Showman move, bravo.

This show is dripping with energy. The first-ever Tweezer Reprise opener followed by Chalkdust Torture... that's a hormone-fueled start if there ever was one.

Reba is engulfed in near silence early in the jam, morphing into a coherent but soaring climax.

The rest of the first set is workman-like. It's fine.

The 2001 is great out of the gates to start the second set. It continues the quasi-aggressive playing of the first set... this is a rock show.

I think this is a landmark show in the Fall 95 tour. There are so many underwhelming setlist and shows from the first part of that tour – just look at the rating from those early-tour shows. They're awful, and for a reason. But this show is something else entirely.
