Review by julius54

julius54 Fall tour got off to a hot start on Friday night. Coming right out of the gate with Petrichor, and they nailed it. I loved it on the album and it was even better live. People are gonna come around on this one. First set Ghost was first set Ghost--type one and crunchy as hell--definitely worth a listen. Heavy Things settled us down as Leo took over for a fun little jam. I really like Home on the album and was looking forward to hearing it. Felt a little flat though, but still enjoyed it--the end was worth it. My first Poor Heart, awesome. Gin coming in hot and a good time was had by all. 555 and Horn your standard first set songs, did the job they were supposed to do. I really, really disliked More on the album--felt like an OAR track to me--but damn was it good live. Still sounds like a TAB song to me though more than Phish.

No Mens was a superbly funky start to set two. They didn't take it as far as I'd hoped but the DWD that followed did the job. Trey was bouncing all over the place on this one, very fun. Cities! The first timer I brought with me loved this. Trey moving to the Marimba was awesome. If you were on the floor, you could feel the vibrations shaking your ribcage. Roggae was a nice slow down. 20YL I can do without. Light was great as usual. Free pretty standard, but still raging. Boogie On>Hood was a spectacular end to a great show.

Winterqueen, Tube and Rocky Top. Who could've guessed that combo? Weird but fun end to the show. Had a great time, the south knows how to party.
