Review by makisupaman

makisupaman The Aladdin has a bit of a community playhouse vibe in that it's quite small, but the crowd was relatively light on this summer week day night in SE Portland. I remember walking in and down the aisle directly to the front row in front of Page. He was positioned front center, almost protruding off the front lip of the stage. The set seemed a little on the shorter side, but I can remember getting goosebumps when I saw the road cases with the "PHISH" logo spray-painted on them, and thought how easy it would be for them to get back together since they still had all the gear labelled! The encore was the highlight for me, with Page solo on the baby grand for Strange Design, and the whole band returning for one of his instrumental masterpieces in CTB. A fun show, and an idiosyncratic experience with Page solo like that.
