(Published in the second edition of The Phish Companion...)

We got to Redlands quite early. So early in fact that the fence had not yet been erected, so we were just wandering around watching the stage when the soundcheck started. Mikey quickly started rolling the DAT deck and we caught most of “Dog Log” and “Heartbreaker” before Amy Skelton came by and asked Mikey to turn it off. Luckily Mikey just switched off the backlight on the display and kept rolling the mics. That was an awesome sound check!
