Trey Supports Music Ed Through Mockingbird

In conjunction with his newly announced Newport Festival show, Trey has directed the Newport Festival Foundation to donate $2,000 to the Mockingbird Foundation. Mockingbird in turn has matched the donation and contributed $4,000 to nearby Mt. Pleasant High School, which had its $4,000 music budget for the year slashed to only $700. We're restoring that, thanks to Trey and NFF, and encourage others in the area to contribute to their music program, as well.

“The benefits of music education in the lives of young people are countless, and yet music programs in our schools continue to be seriously underfunded,” said Anastasio, co-founder of the band Phish in a prepared statement. “Thankfully, there are organizations like The Mockingbird Foundation that are on the frontlines of this very worthy cause. The fact that this non-profit organization was founded and funded by the Phish fan community is incredibly inspiring and humbling.”
