Album Possible In 2012

Though the headline at Rolling Stone exaggerates it to "Trey Anastasio Says Phish Likely to Start Recording This Winter" (emphasis added), he is quoted as having said, "We are talking about opening the door to some kind of new album this winter. Next year is looking like it will be a less busy touring year, mostly because of family obligations for some of the band members. We want to get together in the winter and start working on something new. What that thing is [is] undefined, and we're keeping it that way on purpose. We just want to get together and see where it goes."

Counting the early White Tape effort, this would be the band's 16th studio release.

Must at least come to Hampton, VA next Summer. Maybe they should call the new album "The Helping Friendly Album" and take Trey's thesis down "new road".

The more I think about this, I'm sad. I'm certainly very excited about the new album. That's great news. Just wish the tour plans weren't so short. But I understand. Family obligations. They have lives and things to deal with. But for the love of God, I reiterate, PLEASE PLAY HAMPTON, VA. My father put the seating in and knows the owner so you can bet I'll be pestering him every day to do his damndest to get them to come. You can count on that. Plus it's 2012 and according to the Mayan calandar, there won't be a 2013 :-) Hmmm. Good poster idea for the 2012 tour. Mayan Pyramid with "I don't care if the world explodes." Ok, If Anyone does that, you must let me know and send me one. I say this again with tears in my eyes crying like a spoiled child "PLEASE COME TO HAMPTON!"

A new album will be nice, but the live stuff is really the best. I rarely pull a studio album out to spin, always grab a show. Sounds like a thin tour next year, OK with me, I'm happy to have so much jam on the way this Summer.
