After the miserable mess that was Undermind, I bought the Joy Deluxe set. That was the last album I ever bought AND listened to. My theory was that there’s so much great material, if they want me to hear it they’ll play it in concert. Unfortunately that’s not always the case. Life beyond the dream is time for a piss and another gin and tonic. There’s a few like these. My buddy and I have a name for these songs “new shit that Trey wants to play that isn’t good”. It’s ok. Nobody cares if I’m there or not. Occasionally I’m punished by then missing the beginning of a new song that I do want to hear. But I’ve been listening to this band for 33 years, and they’re my favorite group and the soundtrack to my life essentially. Doesn’t mean I’m gonna like every song. I saw this was a post to drive up traffic so here you go, I’m giving you more natural traffic. In what world does anyone imagine Trey and the boys are up there thinking “wow it seems like everyone is leaving!”??? That’s silly.
