Great review. Their commitment to evolving as a band was a hot topic with my group post show. It feels like they’ve been playing with joyful invincibility since Covid and Mike’s new rig is taking their sound to another level. On several occasions the band was creating soundscapes for Mike to have his way with and this made songs I’ve seen countless times feel brand new again. What I’m seeing from this band is the equivalent of Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretzky dominating like a 25 year old in their age 60 season. Hard to imagine but it’s absolutely amazing and we should be grateful because that same commitment to evolving and reinventing themselves is why this ride didn’t end 20 years ago.
