Great write-up Brian! I too got the Anaconda show first (ca. Y2K), and listened to it on repeat (ROCKS! TREES! BOULDERS!) before exploring the other shows this week. As a lifelong Californian, now with older (I was 11 in April ‘92) Phishy friends who were at the April ‘92 shows and have told me how special the atmosphere was, I’ll always hold these shows in high esteem. Phish played California before ‘92, but this run was the true beginning to the relationship between the band and the state.
