melt_the_tek9 I love this recap and the metaphors, so good! But I take issue with only one thing: the continued references to non-Type II versions of songs. This review almost makes it a point on every song that it did not go type II, which is fine, if all you're chasing Phish for is type II moments. Even in the 90s we didn't get type II all the time, maybe once a show, depending on the year. While this review shines, the reminders that the boys didn't stretch out a song or go new places with it casts a subtle fog on the description of the review, leaving me feeling a little unsettled. "It's a great show, don't get me wrong, but songs were all mostly standard and 'average.'" Phish on the most standard of shows is not average.

I love the spot on talk on LivePhish, it's absurd anymore. What's worse is the next morning we woke up to race to the living room to fire up the Hood again, hoping (actually, knowing) that the hiccup in the type II moment (actually the almost Lovelight moment) would be intact, and we'd get to hear/see exactly what transpired. Nope, the gap is still in the replay. THIS is the most absurd: why can they get mixed down audio up in a few hours for people to buy, but the stream, which is actually recorded video, does not get repaired for the VOD option?? Here's to hoping the band makes Hood an official, free LivePhish video.
