12/28/03 Frankie Says
God dammit I'm an idiot. I should have realized. I blasted through all the jammy songs from Miami '03, even thinking "that Frankie looks a little long..." but got distracted with some Vegas '04. Nice one.

I had to sit on my hands to not type how close you were, but I didn't want to influence the game. I can't remember which past MJM it was, but I'm almost positive a very similar thing happened to me once. Half-satisfying knowing how close you were, but half-torturous as well.

That Miami run was sloppy at times but definitely not short on jams, risks and fun. Oddly enough, for New Year's runs post 1.0, I'd rank the two Miami ones above all the MSGs, with 09 and 03 neck and neck for the top spot. If Summer 03 was Trey's "sober tour," did things fall apart for him in December 03?
If I was a betting man, just from the tapes, I'd put Trey's 2003 off-the-wagon moment at around the break between the second and third sets on the second day of It. The 46 Days is easily the least focused of the super-extended summer 2003 jams, and the raspiness and randomness of Trey's mid-Antelope banter approach Bonnaroo '02/Vegas '04 levels.

IMO.
