spocksbrain Hmmm...I am not the most knowledgeable person in the Phish universe that is for sure...but I think there might be a slight difference in their playing between now and '97, or '95', or '94', or '93. I mean, I think that they are the greatest band of all time (seriously...and I am an old hand at arguing with many who disagree)...but the playing is totally different...the songs are way more compact...in my humble opinion, I like the 'lagging' buildup to the finale, instead of the finale being twenty seconds long before I know what happened and the song is over. I also like more ecclectic setlists, since they have a four hundred song catalog. I might be an asshole...but I can't help but notice a lot of repeats that don't have the jamming that might make them unique versions. I can't help but feel as though they have abandoned their ways of being a jamband, and are trying to be more rock, straight up. Am I really the only one that thinks this is the case? But hey...these are only one fool's opinions...what do I know?
