I'm happy to read something that condones us newbies. As a human being born in the mid 80s with pretty strict parents, phish was the first music i remember liking. (Fee the first phish song i ever heard, Junta the second album i ever bought) I wasn't allowed to go to the shows/festivals even in my home turf of northern maine even though my older cousins were going and begging me to come. My first show was Bonnaroo '09 (which i don't often admit) and ever since i've been trying to make up for lost time and it has been the time of my life. I feel like I understand both sides of the spectrum. I know what it's like to recognize faces and meet up with the dude i camped next to in California but i also have some internet friends that i have yet to meet. The moral of the story is that ALL of us are having a great time seeing our favorite band and it doesn't make you more or less deserving to do so because of how long you've toured or how many shows you've been to. Phish is FUN in the purest form and it means something a little different to all of us... As this first night of superball jams winds down, i'm thankful for all the phriends i've made and for the opportunity to catch a glimpse of what some of them are experiencing at this very moment thanks to the technology of the times. :-D
