One of the more prolific songs in the live repertoire from The Siket Disc, “My Left Toe” has emanated from a number of jams. However – as with almost everything on that album – its tenuous construction makes it easy to mistake similar jams for intentionally performed versions of “My Left Toe.” Such is the case on 10/8/99, when a jam out of “Tweezer” sparked much debate as to whether it was “My Left Toe” or just a jam (the latter). More concretely identified performances of the song have taken place on 6/30/99 (awesome segue from “Bug”), 7/7/99 (“Disease” -> “My Left Toe” -> “Wading” -> “My Left Toe”), 7/21/99 (out of "Simple" and into "Caspian"), and its final performance to date on 7/25/99 (out of “My Friend My Friend”).

CreatureoftheNight As the jamming charts expands, I hope the MLT from 7-21-99 gets some recognition. Starting at the 9 minute mark, a divine composed jam builds to a hypnotic peak. The crowd was quite chatty that night, but this jam brought everyone's focus back to the stage where it belonged.
