I forgot to mention the Steam (!). Initially lauded as a show highlight, I think it was overrated. It contained more fun with Trey's new echoplex. To many, this will sound like another take on the whale call - lots of bent, dissonant notes. Couple that dissonance with Fishman's inexplicable constipation groans (there's really no better way to describe them), and the jam was jarring to the ears overall. Plus, despite the dissonance, the rhythm section remained confined to the Steam beat - and thus, this should be classified as a type i jam. This jam was not better than the Wolfman's and both Sand/Piper had better moments.
