Rick_Shrickter I don't know about best show of '97, but the best jam of '97, and the best phish jam of all time was the 12-6-97 Tweezer into Isabella. There's so much patience and tension by Trey in that jam. In my opinion Phish is at it's best when Trey lays back, plays rhythm and adds texture instead of shredding. Sort of like the 95-96 Free jams (which I don't know why they stopped playing Free that way because it was so gosh darn psychedelic). And the '97 summer tour was great too. I don't know about how they measure up listening now, but I was at several summer '97 shows and there was a general feeling that everyone was traversing new musical terrain. The band, the audience. Yeah...those were good times.
