The Mockingbird Foundation will be having its year end special sale of The Phish Companion, 3d. Ed. and its associated poster art and merch at the PhanArt "Skyscraper is Grander" show on Thursday, December 29th from noon until 6. Admission is free. We will be among the 20 artists and craftspeople selling Phish-related art at the show in the Gold Room at the Hotel Pennsylvania at 401 7th Avenue (at W 33rd St, directly down the street from MSG).
Fans who have not yet picked up their copy of The Phish Companion may want to get to this show on the early side as we expect to sell out of our allotment of 50 books by mid-show as we have the several shows we've done earlier this year in Chicago and Las Vegas.
NOTE: THERE IS NOW A "LOW INVENTORY ALERT" ON THE PHISH COMPANION: WE HAVE FEWER THAN 1,000 COPIES LEFT AND EXPECT TO SELL OUT BY THE END OF JANUARY!
Due to the economics of self-publishing a premium quality hardcover color book in the US and needing to place a large order of thousands of books to be economic, we do not planning to be reprinting this book any time in the foreseeable future. So your best shot at getting a book at the show sale price of $39.00 with no shipping charges is at Thursday's show (or to buy it real soon at phishcompanion.com or Phish Dry Goods). Like limited edition posters, we expect The Phish Companion to be fetching three figures on the resale market (it already is from third party sellers on Amazon.com) once it sells out. You can check out a sample at the show before buying if you haven't yet seen our beautiful, definitive book on the music of Phish throughout its thirty year history.
In addition to the Phish Companion book, we will have all of the full size, limited edition and numbered posters from the eight artists commissioned to make the "era" posters which introduce the chapters in the Phish Companion. We wll also be selling the two limited edition Boyerart basketball jerseys with art from the Phish Companion from our collaborative with Boyerart and artists David Welker and A.J. Masthay. All of this merch will be availalle at our special blowout sale pricing for this show.
For the first time, the PhanArt show will be featuring a mailing station where your poster purchases can be tubed and safely shipped back to your home by mail.
If you liked this blog post, one way you could "like" it is to make a donation to The Mockingbird Foundation, the sponsor of Phish.net. Support music education for children, and you just might change the world.

The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
