MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 114

Welcome to the 114th installment of Mystery Jam Monday here at Phish.net. As usual, we will be playing for an MP3 download, courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. The rules haven't changed: you need to correctly identify the song and the date to win. Post your guess in the comments. One guess per person per day (with the second “day” starting after I post the hint). A hint will be posted on Tuesday (if necessary) and the answer will be posted on Wednesday. Good luck...

Tuesday Hint: Holy shit, the users need a hint! ::does victory lap:: That hasn't happened for a while. Ok, your hint is: It's not from Europe.

Wednesday Answer: That's right... it's 12:01 a.m. EDT, so it's Wednesday. The Blog is not above being a stickler for the rules, having not won an MJ in like a year. In any event, this week's mystery jam -- which, of course, perplexed every single one of you -- was the 2/22/93 "Tweezer." Looks like we'll be playing for two livephish.com downloads next time. Better luck next time, n00bs....

I felt the same way when I first heard it. Been a long time since I heard it, but I'll go with 11/2/94 Tweezer. Don't have the 6/25/97 but I am sure somebody can give it a listen and verify whether it is that DWD

I'm agreeing w/ this train of thought. It's not 11-2-94 though, but I'm going w/ 1 I'm rusty on...

MiguelSanchez Oh, @andrewrose might have hit it. This one rings a bell. Well, I've spent days doing worse things than listening to '94 tweezers...
, comment by andrewrose
andrewrose I think that's it. If it's not the jams are damn similar.
, comment by bl002e
bl002e Still working on it, but I was thinking '94 Tweezer for sure.

Hey @andrewrose -- I've PMed you a few times and started a thread about your review of 10/23/94 Gainesville: http://phish.net/setlists/?d=1994-10-23

You said "For one, there's a great sounding soundboard that's available," but I and a few others couldn't find a SBD of this show anywhere. Could you upload it or let me know where you got it from? Would love to have that one in SBD form. Thanks!

@bl002e sad to report that I was mistaken, was confusing it with another show! except of course the soundboard of the Hood from A Live One..

You know, it sounds sooo similar but I can't quite line it up 100% ... maybe a question of sources but something tells me the right jam may still be out there..

duggy Just because it's kick-ass, nobody else has guessed it, and I'm sure this is a '94 Tweezer: 11/28/94 -- I didn't re-listen to verify so I'm really not sure and haven't heard it in years, but when I go home tonight I am listening to that jam! I suggest you all do as well ...

MiguelSanchez Well well well, still guessing on day 2...
, comment by andrewrose
andrewrose Yeah and I'm stumped. I suppose it's possible that this isn't a Tweezer, but it sure as hell sounds a lot like one. Maybe that's a red-herring, though I can't for the life of me track down something else that sounds like this. What really gets me is that the theme to the jam is sooo similar to the 6/10/94 Tweezer, around the 10-11 minute mark if anyone wants to compare. Which would lead me to believe that it would have been at least around that era.. but I can't find it.
