I Am the Walrus

LefthandMonkeywrench I was at both the Wrigley and the Baker's Dozen shows and think the addition of the Chilling Thrilling quotes really put this one over the top. (Not to mention the insane siren lights that CK5 flipped on at this point.) Ending the first set with an increasingly chaotic crescendo left us in the crowd in anticipation for what the second set had to offer and adding the quotes really improved that portion of the song to give a similar feel to the original but in a way that was unique to Phish. (So much so that I thought it deserved a comment on the song's history.)

n00b100 One of my favorite moments that doesn't involve a jam in the live oeuvre comes at the end of this take on Walrus, as Page gets a demented flash of inspiration and starts firing off all of his CTSOTHH samples in a Phish-y approximation of the sound collage John Lennon cooked up to end the original version of the song. It's a ton of fun, and one of those things that keeps me coming back to the band.
