‘Demons" can be added to the menagerie of evil mystical creatures that Trey sings about. It was played twice on the Classic TAB May 2024 tour, debuting May 9th at the Salt Shed in Chicago and played again May 19th at Mtelus in Montreal.
“Demons” has yet to be played by Phish, but while lighthearted in tone, it certainly seems to be from the same batch of songs and similar to the themes in "What's Going Through Your Mind" and "Monsters." At its second performance in Montreal, it was played before and linked directly to "Monsters" by Trey: "True story, here's another song about weird things creeping into you." Hopefully this spooky but fun brainworm creeps into regular rotation.
