Phish 10-29-10, 10-30-10, & 10-31-10 Best concert I've ever had the pleasure of attending. The night started high energy and the theme was BOOGIE DOWN ON HALLOWEEN. I haven't relistened to the first and third sets as of yet but I think the setlists on paper speak for themselves.

I would SOOOOOOO much rather be in AC than sitting here handing out candy to spoiled little brats that don't say, "trick or treat" anymore.

I remember sitting poolside at my friends house back in the late 70s listening to 'Waiting For Columbus'. I've been giving the previous Halloween shows a listen to as we approached this years event in Vegas. This show has got a really good first set, an incredibly well delivered musical costume, and a band that seems audibly tired in the third. If the band had delivered a seminal moment in the third frame this show would be looked back upon with much more reverence. Still the Divided Sky,

This show has got a really good first set, an incredibly well delivered musical costume, and a band that seems audibly tired in the third. If the band had delivered a seminal moment in the third frame this show would be looked back upon with much more reverence. Still the Divided Sky, I have never been less excited about a musical costume than this one. I've read Mike is a huge Little Feat fan, and that's great for what it's worth; if he needed Phish to do this for whatever reason, I support it. No one's putting a salmon to my head and making me listen to this show on repeat forever (though the first and third sets do offer some tasty courses.) The first four songs in the first set seem to have a bit of thematic Halloween continuity, and I like the song choice in the third set. I'll have to relisten to this Julius to see what's highly recommended about it (probably the percussion and horns.) I'm working my way through reviewing all the musical costumes, and I think I have to rate '94 highest for best overall show and '98 highest for being an amazing show as well as my personal favorite costume top to bottom. 2010 was a good year for Phish, but a kind of transitional one, in my opinion, and this Halloween show as well as the fact that they didn't do another one until 2013 and then they covered their own as-yet-unreleased album support that thesis, if one were to speculate.

Pretty cool show though not an elite Halloween foray. Thats a tall task though. Phish highlights are definitely the ghost > spooky, stash (great year for stash!) and the julius encore. Little Feat though maybe not as well known as the Beatles or the Stones is definitely a feat (pun intended). I particularly enjoyed the Spanish Moon here. Not the best show of 3.0 but certainly an elite level for 2010.

My least favorite of the 3 Halloween's I've attended, and it was still AWESOME!! That tells you the strength of the other two('95,'98.) Phish with a rythmn drummer is sweet. I thought he could've been louder in the mix but I'm sure my weathered hearing didn't help the cause.

Since the record has regenerated interest, everyone who wants to hear what this amazing album really sounds like should check out the brand-new Gold 2CD version by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. Mastered from the original tapes and two years in the making. It's mind-blowing. Read more about it here:

If they would've thrown in a "Skin it back" for an encore than this looks like it would be epic...not to say that it wasn't. I'm sure it was.

That said, my worst fear has most likely come to fruition on 10/31/10
There is no band
in the world
that throws down
for the people
like
phish.
Am I wrong?
