A shake-the-rust off outing with only a few moments worth seeking out in Disease and Simple
The Disease has a few minutes of power and energy starting at around the 8 minute mark. The crowd responds as well.
Mound is mangled pretty badly- They retired it for the rest of 1.0 after playing it four times on this tour. Ice is also flubbed.
A short Wolfman's opens the second set, and the Taste that follows it as quite well-played until the end, when some missed notes mar an otherwise strong version.
The Simple jam is really interesting and worth a listen, kicking off a tour in which Simple really came into its own. This version has some long sustain from Trey before he moves to the mini-kit, when the jam gets percussive. Some Mike-led jamming that goes into some strange territory before Page eventually gets into the action.
The rest of the show is eminently forgettable.

If I remember correctly Lake Placid PD was out in full force before the show, and having this concert in the middle of the week in a small town like Placid brought negative attention to the community- according to the locals, my aunt and uncle live in neighboring Saranac. My friend went to this show, and I immediately listened to the show when I got my hands on the copy. Simple had some interesting improvisational playing (unique bass and space loops from Trey). The Antelope was decent as well.

Down with Disease: Bit of a lyrical flub in there, not too bad though. Type I shredfest, Trey takes it out to the edge but stays within the confines of the OG structure and then brings it back in nicely with a proper finish.
Wilson > Buried Alive > Poor Heart: This segment maintains the energy DwD created.
Billy Breathes: Little breather. Billy Breathes the album was released the day before.
Mound: Little sloppy. >
Sample in a Jar: As expected.
It's Ice: Pretty rough flub.
The Horse > Silent in the Morning, Character Zero: Standard, Zero sounded tentative and needs practice. Vocals at the end come in far too early.
First set summary: Clifford Ball, this was not. Some sloppy playing, especially in the re-entry in It’s Ice, yikes. DwD has slight replay value, outside of that – not so much.
SET 2: Wolfman's Brother: Standard.
Taste: The ending is not so tight (Trey)
Train Song: Page sounds good plinking away on the baby grand.
Simple: First of the great 96 versions. Trey on the percussion rack and Page getting funky. The last two minutes of Trey smoking power chords is soaring. >
Swept Away: Debut > Steep: Debut >
Prince Caspian: Standard:
Run Like an Antelope: This sucker gets dissonant quickly! Rages around in this wall of sound for a while. Trey messing with some effects into the Rye Rye Rocco.
The Squirming Coil: Bit sloppy. Pretty solid Page solo though.
Johnny B. Goode: Face melter.
ENCORE: Waste
Second set summary: They set the tone with Simple for what was to come with this tune being a big jammer moving forward. Antelope is unheralded but does have replay value. It is a decent set for a tour opener I suppose. I would rate this show as a 3 out of 5. Had to be a decent letdown coming off the Clifford Ball, expectations were sky high. Pittsburgh looms but first Penn State.

That said, the show is fine. I think the Antelope, Squirming Coil, Johnny B Goode trio to end is in the exact wrong order, but what are you gonna do.
This is a seriously low rating. If you're looking for pure headz, skip it. If you're plowing through entire tours/entire years while at work, it's a totally serviceable couple of hours.
