An absolutely perfect show on a perfect night in Dover. I’m completely speechless. I started going to Phish shows many years ago and tonight was my 380th. I just love everything about this band and tonight truly blew my mind. I will forever be grateful for these incredible experiences and for the impact Phish has had on my life.

Typing as I come down from this amazing night of music. The stars aligned for Mondegreen to be my first Phish shows, and night 3 I dropped my dose back in the Shadows in the Trees.

Set one hit plenty of major peaks, with Jibboo really getting things cooking. The first set tonight rivals the opening set of the fest, but that opening set should rightfully take top marks for the weekend.

However, N3 set 2 will surely go down as some of the best Phish to ever Phish. I mean, pure magic at every level. 50,000 people has never felt so intimate while the band gave us gift after gift after gift. All for our delight.

Thank you, Phish, for everything. I loved absolute every second of it.

This was the most fun I've ever had at a Phish show--or at any concert. Absolutely impeccable sound quality at the venue, fantastic musicianship from all four members of the band, killer song selection, diverse jamming, and above all exclusively positive vibes among the crowd. Mike's Groove was admittedly a little tepid, probably owing to the previous night's late secret set. But everything after that crushed. The last five minutes of that Disease jam were just...fantastic.

Highlights: Gotta Jibboo, 46 Days, DwD (ALL-STAR), Tweezer, SASS

This is proof that you don’t need 30+ minute jams to have a legendary show. Set 1 opened hot and heavy with Mike’s and it didn’t cool down until Theme and then heated right back up until Evolve, which were both placed perfectly in the set and executed to perfection. Meatstick and Boogie On took a couple moments in the show to remind everyone that we’re here to have fun too, and the best way to describe everything else from Bowie through to Carini is just the image from last year of Page’s stage monitor reading “FUCKING PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS”.
Aside from Page being a little too eager to start Carini, there isn’t a single flubbed line or missed note and the jams are short, tight, and absolute scorchers. I can’t believe this is a criteria but YEM had one of the best vocal jams in a while, and who would’ve thought a show with a Number Line encore would be this good? To think that something like this came from a band that’s 41 years into their career, what are they going to pull out of their sleeves next?

Loved that meatstick such treat to see. Ha! they shredded that disease so intense and deeply introspective mike dropping bombs left and right then the tweeeZ was just too dirty seriously seen that one so much and they continue to outdo themselves keep raising up the bar. The deep level of psychedelic energy pouring out of that 2nd set was amazing. The YEM here is killer too it just keeps getting better and better every time I see it.

Felt like reaching new heights for this band and community. Every single person around me had their jaw on the ground afterward. This show had a sparkling spacey vibe and an insistence on deep jamming (often arrived at very quickly and seamlessly) that is rare to say the least. Check out the end of Scents. They really sent us to the deep reaches of space with that one. Wow! One of my all time faves, hands down. I am holding back from saying that this is the best phish show that I’ve ever been to, but right now, I’m pretty sure it is. Thank you phish!!

I've been seeing Phish for a while now. I've always had Trey on a pedestal. But I never could have thought he could rise any higher with his playing. This show made me dance harder than I have ever danced at a show, and at times I simply had my hand over my mouth just shocked and completely blown away by Trey's playing. He has achieved the pinnacle of what electric guitar playing can be. He has surpassed Jerry, Jimi, and everyone else he stands on the shoulders of. He stole my face, as they say.
Let's talk about Mike too. He finally figured out that new bass guitar tone and my god it's perfect. I've been playing a lot of bass myself lately and could immediately pick out what he was trying to do with the new tone. Lots of percussive elements coming out of that new one. His synth bass tone has reached new heights too. It's just so flawlessly buttery and crunchy how it needs to be. All weekend Mike was itching to bust out Boogie On, and when he got the chance to do so WOW we all freaked out.
The energy was just something else. Sometimes when the music is so good and everyone's energy is merging, it feels like an entity has been summoned overtop the crowd and in front of the band, and the energetic spawned being is the music playing the band. I've only met this creature once or twice before and only for brief minutes. This night the creature was hovering over everyone all night. It was truly magical.

Wow, just wow; this is the type of show we go to Phish for, the energy, the magic, the passion and love, nothing beats this! Mike’s to open was pure fire, ripping right out of the gate, Jibboo > 46 Days was some pure nasty Phish, and Bowie to close ripped that 1st set! The 2nd set was nonstop fun, 2001 felt like it went on forever in the best way, Oblivion got dirty, but that Disease > Tweezer > Scents > Boogie On is some legendary Phish, nonstop grooving, teases, pure and utter chaos! Carini to close melted whatever was left of our faces, and YEM > Tweeprise to close? Nothing better than this, Phish is on fire and riding a new high, cannot wait for Dick’s!

I’ve loved and listened to this band since 2005, but Mondegreen was only my 7th through 10th show. The whole experience was amazing, and this second set was probably the climax of my love for phish the past 20 years. Trey deciding to drop into Tweezer after one of the most powerful jam I have heard them do in the climax to disease was Huge. What a boss, we didn’t need a cooldown yet! You could tell they wanted to deliver big tonight after it was announced that Sunday was going to be affected by weather. They did and I danced hard. I also learned why you shouldn’t dance in kushy running shoes (as convenient they are for the walk from camp) because I rolled my ankle dancing sometime this night, but thankfully adrenaline kept the pain away until the drive home.

I don’t even know how to describe the fest itself. There was so much to do it was absurd. I spent part of this morning avoiding the rain in the air conditioned crepe shop, and jammed on the baby grand with another fan on guitar. We did a pretty mean Evolve. My sister asked how I was coping returning to work, and I said by planning Mexico 2025

Thank you phish for the best weekend of my life!!

I was standing in the front on top of the tower during the second set and encore. What I experienced that night will never be forgotten. The energy of the crowd on top of the tower from DWD through to the end was unbelievable. Everyone was so positive, kind, and energetic. Everyone belting out Number Line together, as if we had all known each other for years. Looking out at a sea of people all there for the same purpose, with a clear view of the band and all of the lights during the peak in YEM, and a Tweeprise to close us out... I will never forget that night.

Hands down one of the best crafted Phish shows I’ve witnessed. Playing was top notch out of the gate. Phish made a statement with that show and knew they had to make up for what was about to unfold on Sunday. Maaaaaaaan did they deliver. Just classic phish from top to bottom. This is why I keep coming back for this band

Wow. Talk about a perfect show. This was my first Phish festival at now 46 shows in. Over the past few years, I’ve had quite a few runs where I have gotten a lot of songs I’ve been chasing, this not being one of them. This show in particular was all songs I’ve seen before, but it taught me a very valuable lesson… it’s not about what they play, it’s about HOW they play. The whole run; the band kept ramping up their energy more and more. I thought night one was a little sloppy, but I also couldn’t have been more excited about how deep the jams were getting and how much they were willing to not “play it safe.” The band is ON right now, and if you’re too busy worrying about what songs they’re playing to enjoy yourself, well that’s on you. This run was the most free I have ever felt in my life: Phish made my body move so freely with my energy increasing each day. Thank you, Phish, for a perfect week with my friends. This show had ALL the heavy hitters with nonstop jams. What more could I possibly ask for?

Best night of music of this Dover run. The 1st set plays so well and the guys are honed in on the performance. Nothing rash here; however a rhythm based interplay for the ages. Friday and the secret set were immaculate, and to come back with N3 being my favorite after listening again. I know it’s like a shot in the dark, but I think Mondegreen would be a fun three night run in the future. The space is huge, but ante upping every time to make that place so funky good and raw takes major planning. Beyond the music, I could feel a stillness that was surreal there. I for one loved it! The good times; bad times wouldn’t be if I never left home. I’m so happy how my experience has been since this festival. I am not worthy”

Epic 3 night run fellas

With no stop at MPP and announcement of no Fall tour, I feared not being able to see phish this year. I’m an old phan (not jaded) and unable to hit multiple shows at this point in my life. I can usually swing two or three shows a year but this year was looking bleek. And being that the last show I attended was the Wilmington run last year, my first rain cancellation (hopefully the last), you might say I needed closure. Fortunately, some plans in my work life a few days prior to the festival getting underway, and I suddenly realized that I could swing a solo trek to Dover for the Saturday night show. I hit the jackpot with this show and the SASS was cathartic. I’m sure I have some attendance bias but there’s no denying the quality of the jams here. Particularly the phishy groove that set in halfway through the Jibboo, the spectacular 46 Days and the entire second set! Proof positive that if you have a chance to squeeze a show into your life, take it! I love being a part of the crowd and experiencing the intense jubilation with everyone. Shows like this where the band and the crowd are truly one, vibrating together in sync is indescribable and can only be felt in person. It’s why we keep it rolling. Thank you, Phish for the many years and continued joy and peace you bring me. And thank you phans, for sharing in the groove with me, making these occasional solo ventures I take to see Phish feel like family gatherings. Hope to see you all at MPP again sooner than later.

Welp guys. This was a fucking hell of an experience. I took some acid. Bounced around the floor, had the time of my life raging to this show. From the start with the beach ball chaos which had me smiling to my first meatstick and insane Bowie, it was a first set to remember

2nd set Had a sick disease > tweezer. must listen material. Scents was a fantastic cool down. Boogie on got the crowd rolling one more time and this triple encore is just a treat. This was a phenomenal night. Night 4 was going to be even more special but it "Rained"

August 17th, 2024 was day three of Mondegreen, Phish's eleventh-ish* self-curated music festival and the first one to occur in Dover, Delaware. It had rained hard during the early morning hours but I had remained comfortable, balanced sleepily upon my new fancy-pants air mattress inside my equally new, equally fancy-pants big-and-domey blackout tent.

The huge cardboard city hall that was being constructed over the course of the weekend did not, however, fare the downpour nearly as well. My crew and I quit our campsite early so we could spend the day exploring the concert site, and the omission of the impressive corrugated paper and masking tape creation was the first thing we saw (or didn't see, I suppose). I'm glad I'd had a small hand in building it back on night one.

There were, however, several other objects of curiosity scattered throughout the site, and we checked 'em all out. We surveyed the site from the raised platform of the Helio, a two-story structure that served as the centrepiece of the concert pitch, we bought lunch in the farmers market, we checked out a very cool 20' replica of the moon that hung in a forest clearing, we tapped on the glass as Ari Fink broadcast live from inside the siriusxm trailer, and similarly lackadaised ourselves around until showtime.

By the time the show started my entire extended crew had congealed just ahead of and to the right of the the Helio, nearly the same vantage point as I'd had the night before and a great-sounding place to watch the show from. And it was a really good show too, if maybe a little standard.

But really, I'm probably a poor judge of the last half of the show, for it was sometime during the second set that m'lady went on a bathroom run and never returned. After a song or two I started keeping my eye out for her and after another song or two I raised both of my arms in the air and kept them there, waving them slowly and hoping that if m'lady was lost that she'd soon find us. Well, she was and she didn't. I knew she was okay but I was still worried. I tried to convince myself that she had run into friends - which was extremely plausible - but I told everyone to watch out for her and I kept my damn arms raised high in the air, ever-waving. I wanted to go looking for her and did do a couple of quick circles around the immediate area, but I figured staying put and waving my arms in order to make our large crew even more visible was the best gambit.

Oh yes...all the while my friend Linda was having a bit of an episode, one which left her mostly uncommunicative and balled up in the fetal position, laying at our feet. Lots and lots of people came over to ask about her - Phish fans have tons of empathy - but she was mostly fine, just being weird. So we tightened up our group so that people couldn't see her and kept on grooving. If I recall correctly Mike took her back to their glamping tent at some point midshow.

But back to me with my arms in the air, trying my best to simultaneously dance away to Tweezer and Boogie On Reggae Woman. By the time the band tore into You Enjoy Myself during the encore I had abandoned any hope that she had simply found other friends. She was almost certainly lost and I was too distracted to pay attention to one of my favourite Phish songs. After the Tweezer Reprise set closer we all posed for a group shot. You can see me in the back with my arms dutifully raised, a concerned look stuck on my face.

"What do you guys want to do?"

"Let's go grab a drink somewhere!"

"We were thinking of heading back to the campsite..."

"I'm not going anywhere until m'lady gets back," I announced, my arms still up. Several people agreed to stay with me, and a few moments later m'lady appeared. She had indeed been lost and had spent the entire time circling the crowd about twenty metres away from us with mounting frustration. She'd not had a great set. Nor had I but I tried not to let her know that.

I know what you're thinking, but I still think life is better without a cellphone.

*It's not that I don't know how many festivals Phish has hosted, it's more that some people count some things as festivals that weren't, and vice-versa. Let's just say that the true number of Phish festivals is a matter of opinion.
