The best word I can use to describe this show is cathartic. It was my first time out since the pandemic, becoming a parent, and then some. So even if it was a cool-off from Alpharetta, this show was exactly what I needed. I would've loved some bust-outs or a monster jam, but for my first time back out in society, the familiarity of these songs just made me appreciate what was going on and take it all in. A beautiful night for sure.

My only real criticism is that the first set seemed a lot longer than the second. Not sure what prompted that.

Am I the only one who feels like there is somebody with a bunch of accounts that likes to influence the scoring? Because I can seldom figure out any rhyme or reason as to how a particular show fares in the early voting. That early voting in turn has a significant impact on the later voting.

My paranoid ramblings aside, this was a pretty solid show. In particular I was psyched to finally hear "Divided Sky" in person. This was my 42nd show, so it didn't come quickly but it was worth the wait. As the first few notes played I was thinking "Wait, I know this. WTF, is my long wait over. Yes, yes it was. I know know the secret to life, the universe and everything.

Overall the song selection was good with several personal favorites being featured and some solid to excellent jamming throughout, though nothing super earth shattering.

In spite of "Divided Sky" being in the first set I'd give the nod to the second as the better of the two. Possum is always fun and YEM was a nice way to finish up before the "Loving Cup" encore.

The venue is great from a listening, aesthetic and vendor perspective, but it would benefit from some more bathrooms. It was rare at any time for there not to be a line at both the mens and women's bathrooms and the six or so added extra porta potties only seemed to help a little.

Overall I'd rate this show a 3.8 to 3.9 or so.

Great show tonight with a killer setlist. For me, I didn't hear them connecting on some of the jams. After the last few shows we were bound for a dip in energy but that's okay because the vibe at this venue and this city more than makes up for it. Beautiful here and I'm sure the guys are going to get comfortable and dig it tonight.

Gorgeous night on the bank of the Cumberland River. Those of us in attendance had a full sensory experience, with Mother Nature, the sound, the band, and CK5 locked in for full night of entertainment. If you like Phish’s output thus far this tour, then you won’t be disappointed in the show. I’m definitely gonna take a close listen to Sample and BDTNL, both stellar expamles of the the quality phish is putting out. Mull??? Wasn’t sure about this at first, but whoa!!! What happened there? It turned into an absolute beast. Gotta hear that again. No mans landed the mother ship and ruby waves saw her fly off again. YEM?? Yeah, I’ll take it! Boom! Vocal jam with CK5 rig transcending time and space. Let’s do it again tomorrow!

Very underrated show imo, which is understandable if you're just looking at the setlist. Anyone who attended understands that the jams and energy were better than the following night, which is better rated and looks better on paper.

PYITE kicked it off old school, The Divided Sky was sacred and powerful, It's Ice and Squirming Coil continued a classic first set, and About To Run RIPPED, we're all feeling like that these days.

Party Time was a great S2 opener, and the jams in No Men, Ruby Waves and Light were dark, unique and focused. The YEM was the icing on the cake, and the whole show left me sweatier and more satisfied than the following night or any of DC '21, which were all good shows.

Pretty badass show on paper alone since I was chasing a lot of those old school heavy hitters like It's Ice, Coil, YEM, Divided Sky, PYITE. I was on some killer LSD too. Damn! Nah it wasnt quite the same type of rager as the previous 3 shows in terms of out there jamming but the 3.1 is surprising. This definitely beat N2 of Beer Creek for me, and I was at both gigs.
Of course, being at the show and listening back are different things, but I'd still take this over N2 DC, Arkansas, and tonight's Hershey gig as of writing this on 8/11. There are some snoozers peppered throughout the first set like Undermind, new Mike tune Mull, and About to Run, which was definitely a run to the beer line. I had high hopes for Halley's after the exploration as of late, but it was standard. Still, there was some good jamming in Number Line, and the tightness displayed in Alpharetta wasn't diminished at all in tunes like Divided Sky, It's Ice, and Coil. Set two lacked the big 20+ min jam centerpiece of the previous shows, but NMINML, Ruby Waves, Possum, and even Light all have some great jamming, just not focused all in one or two songs. Of course Light especially is a lame song, but after a good jam we're rewarded with an outstanding YEM that's tighter than many recent versions and almost reaches the 20 minute mark like a good YEM should. Loving Cup encore rocked as well.
I don't really "rate" shows (I would rather rate individual albums or live albums but a full concert is different) but this one is definitely worth another listen. Don't let the lack of a 20 or 30 minute set 2 jam deter you from checking this one out.

Set 1: Mull is not a good song. A pretty mundane first set. Not much to say really...not bad but also not great. Meh.

Set 2/e: Nothing stood out to me until the Ruby Waves jam (the last five or so minutes, specifically). Trey obviously got bored with it, though, and decided to take a sharp turn into Possum. I can't necessarily say I fault him because while it was interesting at times, the Ruby Waves jam also didn't seem to have a lot of momentum at that point. The Light jam is kind of a snoozer. It feels like the band was searching for something to happen and it never did. But hey, I'd rather have them trying than have them just sit back and play it safe. Not much to say about this YEM other than it's 2021 and they're still doing vocal jams? I've listened to a lot of vocal jams, from every era of Phish, and I've never heard one and thought "that was great!" As for the encore, Loving Cup is a great song and Phish typically does a great version of it. This one is a bit too sloppy though. It's one thing to play a jammed out song sloppily, but it's another to play a straight ahead rocker like this one sloppily. If you're going to play a song like Loving Cup, you have to nail it.

Overall the best description for this show is "meh." I'd rank this one above 7/28, but definitely below 7/30, 7/31, and 8/1.
